The new range of EPAL frames has an innovative design with a double thermal break that combines polyurethane
and polyamide, thus lowering the thermal transmittance coefficient up to Uw = 0.78 W/m2K, depending on the combination of glass panes used.

The thermal insulating glazing used in the EPAL 18000 Ultra K range can be double, triple (with two spacers), or quadruple (with three spacers). The profiles are square and equipped with the German ROTO NT perimeter mechanism by ROTO.

The frames of the EPAL 18000 Ultra K range have the following characteristics:

• Profile with a double thermal break. Two polyurethane thermal breaks surround a 30mm PVC thermal break in the center of the profile.
• All frames are dual action.
• Crimp corners.
• Perimetric locking mechanism. With one turn of the handle, the windows and balcony doors lock at up to 14 points (depending on
the frame dimensions), thus providing the highest level of security on the market.
• The mechanisms used are ROTO NT by the German company ROTO Frank, a leader in frame mechanisms.
• Frames can be manufactured using two colors (different color inside and out).
• There are 2 perimetric gaskets made of TPE that offer perfect sealing.
• Accompanied by blinds or shutters, as well as screens.
Constructed using specific materials and fittings which fulfill predefined high-quality specifications.
• Manufactured under controlled production processes that ensure consistently high quality.

The EPAL 18000 Ultra K range of frames ensures:

• Exceptional thermal insulation. The EPAL 18000 Ultra K system allows the construction of frames with excellent thermal insulation
characteristics (up to Uw = 0.87 W/m2K), based on tests conducted in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-1.
• High sound insulation levels: Rw (C; Ctr) = 38 (-2; -6) dB weighted sound reduction index (with triple glazing 4 – 15 – 4 – 15 – 4)
in accordance with DIN EN ISO 140-3: 2005. Test No. A.540.2011.
• High watertightness and airtightness, based on tests conducted in accordance with:
DIN EN 1026: 2000-09
DIN EN 1027: 2000-09
DIN EN 12211: 2000-12
DIN EN 12207: 2000-06
DIN EN 12208: 2000-06
DIN EN 12210: 2000-06
DIN 18055: 1981-10
• High resistance to mechanical stress during use and very good functionality.
• Superior aesthetics with a wide range of colors and high quality electrostatic powder coating.

EPAL 18000 Ultra K range frames are installed by expert technical staff on any surface, using special fittings and insulating materials that ensure a perfect fit.

EPAL imports glass panes from the world’s leading glass producers.
The 18000 sliding frame systems are equipped with double thermal insulating glazing. The type of glass used is Float glass. The main combination is a 6mm Planistar glass outside, 4mm glass inside, and a gap of 15mm between the two glass panes (6Planistar – 15 – 4).
This combination has a thermal transmittance of Ug=1.0 W/m2K and very good soundproofing properties (Rw = 36dB, according to ISO140/3-78 tests – Test No. Α6.121.96).

The double glazing is initially glued using two Butyl PIB cords (special plastic glue) which are placed along the perimeter of the aluminum spacer placed between the two glass panes. Butyl PIB is highly resistant to temperature variations: -30°C to 80°C and 160°C (for a limited period of time) and has very low thermal conductivity. The aluminum spacer is filled with desiccants that ensure a longer life for the glass pane.

Apart from the special Butyl PIB glue, an additional two-component glue (polysulfide sealant) is used externally along the perimeter of the glass; this glue is elastic and also highly resistant to temperature variations. In this way, the air between the two glass panes does not come in any contact with the ambient air, therefore it is impossible for the glass to become less transparent over time.

EPAL has been certified by the German Ift Rosenheim Institute regarding the sealing processes of thermal insulating glazing and thermal insulating glazing using gas in accordance with the DIN EN 1279-2 and DIN EN1279-3 standards.

Apart from the standard 6Planistar– 15 – 4 glazing, which has a thermal transmittance Ug=1.0 W/m2K, the E50 range may also include triple glazing with special coatings – Low E soft coating and Low E hard coating.

The aluminum profiles of the EPAL 18000 range are made of aluminum suitable for manufacturing frames (DIN 1748).
