The dreamy private residence Oneida Ridge is nestled in a natural clearing within a protected forest area near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
The challenge for the architectural firm Drew Mandel Architects, which undertook the project, was to create a building that blends harmoniously with its surroundings, maintains a degree of autonomy, and allows its residents to stay in constant connection with nature—right at their doorstep.
They achieved this by replacing entire walls with expansive glass surfaces — the bedroom, for instance, feels as if it’s floating in the forest — with EPAL playing a crucial role in making this vision a reality.
This stunning project was realized using fixed and operable windows from the 18000 Ultra K series and sliding systems from the E50 series — both elegant, robust, and highly energy efficient.
Due to the area’s harsh climate, a highly durable coating was essential. The chosen finish was AMMOS 9005 Super Durable by NEOKEM, known for its exceptional resistance to extreme conditions.
Thanks to EPAL’s technical excellence and refined aesthetics, the residents of Oneida Ridge enjoy their daily life in the shadow of towering trees — without ever leaving the comfort of their home.
