The two-story Ballantrae Country House is located in a peaceful, lush landscape not far from the idyllic Lake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada.
The architectural concept by Drew Mandel Architects was inspired by the nearby stream that winds through the area. Mirroring this natural feature, a central corridor flows through the house from end to end, with rooms branching off like extensions into the surrounding landscape.
The need for large glass surfaces that seamlessly connect the interior with the outdoors, combined with the ambition for a minimal environmental footprint, led the developers to place their trust in EPAL’s experienced team.
To meet the specific demands of the project, the 18000 Ultra K and E50 window systems were selected for their excellent thermal insulation properties and their compatibility with the architectural concept. The aluminium frames were coated with AMMOS 9005 Super Durable by NEOKEM, chosen for its durability under extreme weather conditions.
Thanks to the perfect balance of aesthetics and functionality offered by EPAL systems, a beautiful country house was created — one that respects its natural surroundings and achieves high energy performance.
