Product Description

The EPAL E50 is a complete thermally insulated sliding frame system, ideal for constructing durable structures with medium to large opening spans.
Thanks to its design with rectangular profiles, it is an excellent choice for creating elegant and refined constructions.

Technical Characteristics

The sliding frames of the E50 series feature the following characteristics:

  • Sliding and lift-and-slide operation.
  • Profiles with a 34 mm polyamide thermal break along the entire length of the profile.
  • High level of thermal insulation with Uw values up to 2.0 W/m²K.
  • Perimeter gaskets made of EPDM for better sealing and fit.
  • Heavy-duty mechanisms from the German company Hautau Atrium Comfort, securing up to 4 locking points at the front, providing safety and functionality.
  • Compatible with roller shutters, shutters, and insect screens.

Glazing

EPAL imports glass panels from the largest glass manufacturing companies in the world.

The E50 sliding window systems feature double thermal insulating glass panes. +
The glass used is of the Float type. The standard glazing combination consists of a 6mm Planistar glass pane on the exterior, a 4mm glass pane on the interior, and a 15mm gap between the two panes (6Planistar – 15 – 4). This combination offers a thermal insulation coefficient of Ug = 1.0 W/m²K and excellent sound insulation properties (Rw = 36dB according to tests conducted under ISO140/3-78 – Test Number A6.121.96).
Longer lifespan of the glass pane. +
The bonding of the double-glazed panes is initially done with two beads of Butyl PIB (a special plastic adhesive), which are applied around the aluminum spacer placed between the two glass panes. Butyl PIB has very high resistance to temperature variations, ranging from -30°C to 80°C, and up to 160°C for short periods, as well as a very low thermal conductivity. The aluminum spacer is filled with desiccants, which further extend the lifespan of the glass unit.
Fogging of the glass panes over time is completely prevented. +
In addition to the special Butyl PIB adhesive, a two-component sealant (thioseal) is applied externally around the perimeter of the glass. This sealant is elastic and also highly resistant to temperature fluctuations. This method ensures that the air trapped between the two panes has absolutely no contact with the outside atmosphere, thereby completely preventing fogging of the glass over time.
Certifications +
EPAL has been certified for the sealing processes of insulated glass units and gas-filled insulated glass units according to the standards DIN EN 1279-2 and DIN EN 1279-3 by the German institute ift Rosenheim.
Triple glazing with special coatings +
In addition to the standard glazing 6Planistar – 15 – 4, which has a thermal insulation coefficient of Ug = 1.0 W/m²K, the E50 series can also feature triple glazing with special coatings—soft Low-E and hard Low-E coatings—and special gas mixtures, achieving a Ug value of 0.5 W/m²K to meet even the most demanding specifications.
